Do I need a GP referral?
No referral needed. You can book directly with Dr Sivaji as a self-referring patient. We accept direct self-referrals and provide full private consultation without requiring a GP letter. If you prefer, we can contact your GP to keep them informed.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
Most appointments confirmed within 24 hours of contact. Urgent cases often seen within 48 hours. We offer flexible scheduling including early morning, evening and weekend slots when available. Same-week appointments are standard unless you specifically request a later date.
Can I book on behalf of a family member?
Yes. You can book appointments for family members, partners or dependents. Simply provide their details and describe their health concern. They’ll receive a confirmation with appointment details and any preparation instructions needed.

Which conditions does Dr Sivaji treat?
Dr Sivaji specialises in all aspects of gastroenterology including IBS, dyspepsia, reflux, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, liver disease, hepatitis, fatty liver, anaemia, coeliac disease and bowel cancer screening. He also performs advanced endoscopy, colonoscopy and therapeutic procedures. If you’re unsure whether your condition is within his specialty, our team can discuss this when you call.
Is sedation available for endoscopy?
Yes. Conscious sedation (mild sedation) is available for both endoscopy and colonoscopy. You’ll remain aware but relaxed, with no memory of the procedure. Local anaesthetic spray is used to numb your throat. If you’re anxious about procedures, mention this when booking and we can discuss sedation options fully. (at individual request, deeper sedation can be organised in conjunction with an anaestheist.
When will I get my results?
For endoscopy and colonoscopy, results are typically available on the same day. You’ll discuss findings with Dr Sivaji immediately after the procedure with clear explanation and written summary. If biopsies were taken, pathology results are usually available 5-10 working days later.

Which insurers are accepted?
We accept BUPA, AXA, Vitality and Aviva. Most major private health insurance plans are also accepted. When you book, inform us of your insurance provider and we’ll confirm acceptance and any specific requirements. We’ll handle insurance claims where possible, submitting directly to your provider.
Do you offer self-pay packages?
Yes. Self-pay patients are welcome. We’re transparent about costs—you’ll know the full fee before your appointment. Self-pay is often more affordable than insurance excess and provides complete privacy without insurance involvement if preferred.
