An endoscopy allows Dr Sivaji to visualise your oesophagus, stomach and upper small intestine directly. It’s the gold standard for diagnosing reflux, ulcers, dyspepsia and swallowing difficulties.

Preparation
Nothing to eat after midnight before your appointment. You’ll meet Dr Sivaji, discuss any concerns, and arrange sedation if preferred. Local anaesthetic spray numbs your throat.

The Procedure
Dr Sivaji passes the endoscope (thin flexible tube with camera) through your mouth. You remain awake but relaxed. The camera shows exactly what’s happening on a screen. Most patients say it’s far less uncomfortable than expected.

Recovery & Results
You’ll rest briefly, then Dr Sivaji explains findings clearly. If sedation was used, you’ll need someone to drive you home. Results typically available immediately. Any biopsies take 5-10 working days.
